Monday's Watchlist: Key Stocks Reporting Q4 Results

Published April 26, 2024

Stocks to watch on Monday, April 29: Investors face a challenging start to the week as they grapple with the impact of various negative factors. The previous trading session saw a decline in market benchmarks, with both the Sensex and Nifty retreating after a multi-day rally, impacted by reservations in banking, finance, and consumer durable sectors, amidst ambiguous signals from global markets.

Concerns were heightened by rising oil prices internationally, a weakening Indian rupee, and a steady withdrawal of foreign funds, leading to a cautious approach among traders. These concerns prompted a sell-off that resulted in significant market losses; the BSE Sensex plunged by 609.28 points, ending at 73,730.16, while the NSE Nifty fell by 150.40 points to close at 22,419.95.

Focus on Corporate Earnings

A clutch of companies is set to grab the spotlight as they are due to announce their Q4 earnings. Investors are advised to closely watch the performance of UltraTech Cement, Birlasoft, Trent, Can Fin Homes, and Tata Chemicals, all scheduled to release their financial results on April 29.

Additionally, Maruti Suzuki has turned heads with its latest earnings report, revealing a significant 47.8% increase year-over-year in its net profit for the March quarter, driven by higher sales volumes and favorable market conditions for commodity prices. In contrast, SBI Life reported a modest growth in its consolidated net profit for the same period.

With the Q1 results season unfolding, all eyes will also be on Britannia, which has slated its earnings announcement for May 3. Meanwhile, Force Motors reported a slight decrease in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter, dipping by 4.3% in comparison to the previous year.

Investors are recommended to take note of these developments as they might significantly influence their portfolio decisions in the forthcoming trading sessions.

Performance evaluations and future market movements are subject to change, and investors should consult with investment experts before making critical financial decisions.
