HP and United Airlines Shares Climb while Nordstrom and Deere Stumble on 11/22/2023
On Wednesday, the stock market witnessed significant trading activity alongside notable price changes for several major companies.
Technology and Airline Stocks Ascend
HP Inc. (HPQ) saw an increase of 88 cents to $28.75 following the announcement of robust earnings for the fourth fiscal quarter, signaling a positive trend for the personal computer and printer manufacturer. Meanwhile, United Airlines Inc. (UAL) experienced a surge of $1.62 to $41.06, benefiting from a decline in oil prices which is expected to result in reduced fuel costs for airlines.
Retail and Agriculture Companies Face Declines
On the flip side, Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) encountered a drop of 55 cents to $14.35 after the company slashed its profit forecast for the year. Similarly, Deere & Co. (DE) reported a disappointing financial forecast, which led to a significant drop in share price by $15.52 to $367.13.
Other companies like Nvidia Corp. (NVDA), known for its graphics chips, fell $15.47 to $483.97 due to export restrictions concerns to China despite strong financial results. Autodesk Inc. (ADSK) also saw a decrease by $9.67 to $208 after providing a weak earnings outlook for the current quarter. Additionally, Guess Inc. (GES), a well-known fashion brand, trimmed its financial outlook which led to a $1.90 price decline to $21.82.
While Docebo Inc. (DCBO) announced that its founder Claudio Erba would be stepping down as CEO the following year, leading to its shares falling 42 cents to $50.
