Trump Considers Tesla Vandals as 'Domestic Terrorists'

Published March 11, 2025

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump held an event outside the White House with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, during which he expressed strong support for Tesla, calling it “a great American company.” As part of his remarks, Trump vowed to label those who vandalize Tesla vehicles as “domestic terrorists.”

The backdrop of the event featured various Tesla models and the Cybertruck, showcasing the company’s innovative vehicles. Trump spoke in response to increasing reports of vandalism and arson targeted at Tesla vehicles across the United States.

Vehicles owned by individuals and facilities, including a Tesla store in Loveland, Colorado, have suffered multiple attacks as advocates for Tesla's aggressive policies have grown stronger. Trump addressed these events, stating that he would take action against the perpetrators. “They will go through hell,” he warned.

Support for American Companies

During the press conference, Trump defended American businesses, emphasizing the need to protect companies like Tesla that are contributing significantly to job creation. He expressed, “I do favors for all… when you heard an American company, especially a company like this, that applies so many jobs that others are unable to do, those who harm them will face serious consequences.”

He mentioned the availability of CCTV footage that could help identify those responsible for the vandalism, insisting, “We’re going to catch them, and they’re bad guys. They’re the same ones that cause problems in our schools and universities.”

An Alliance with Musk

Trump shared his relationship with Musk, calling him his “First Buddy” and asserting that Musk had been treated unfairly by a minority of people. “He can’t be penalized for being a patriot,” Trump added, highlighting Musk's contributions to American innovation.

He noted his intention to purchase a Tesla for his own use, humorously mentioning that while he hasn’t driven in a long time due to presidential restrictions, he plans to allow staff at the White House to use the vehicle.

Musk responded positively, announcing Tesla's plans to double its production in the U.S. within the next two years, suggesting this growth is a direct result of Trump’s policies and a commitment to American industry.

Connecting with Tesla's Future

Trump also revealed a personal connection to Tesla, indicating he had recently gifted his granddaughter a Tesla Cybertruck. He joked about President Biden’s ability to drive, contrasting it with his own passion for cars, which he expressed fondness for, noting, “I haven’t driven in a long time, but I love to drive.”

The event ended with a call to action for protecting American companies like Tesla while reinforcing Trump's narrative of supporting job creation and innovation in the country.
