Published March 15, 2024

Merrill Wealth Management has ushered in a new initiative aimed at empowering women to fortify their financial futures. The #WomenInvested Meet Ups: Real Conversations About Investing is a video series designed as a clear, approachable guide to investing for women, presented in a 'jargon free zone.'

Empowering Women in Finance

Launching the inaugural episode titled 'Women's Superpower: Investing', the series seeks to underscore the value of investing as a pivotal tool in achieving women's financial security. Lindsay Hans, President and Co-Head of Merrill Wealth Management, emphasizes the impact women have in the economic sphere and the series' relevance to their hectic lifestyles.

Joining Hans in the kickoff episode are Nancy Fahmy, who leads the investment solutions group at Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank, and Marci McGregor, head of portfolio strategy for the Chief Investment Office of Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank.

The Financial Landscape for Women Today

A study examining affluent women's approach to finances revealed positive trends, with 85% owning retirement savings accounts, 69% having a structured financial plan, and 68% utilizing a financial advisor. Nonetheless, a strong desire to learn more about finances persists, with 62% of those surveyed actively seeking financial knowledge and an additional 21% interested in doing so.

However, nearly half of these women face financial challenges, mainly due to competing priorities or lack of time, highlighting the necessity for handy financial education resources like the #WomenInvested series.

Commitment to Women's Financial Literacy

This new series signifies Merrill's longstanding commitment to advancing women's financial literacy and increasing their access to tailored financial advice. It serves as a convenient educational platform tailored for today's busy women.

Those interested in the #WomenInvested Meet Ups can find the videos at the official Merrill website.

Meanwhile, Bank of America continues its leadership role in the financial sector, providing comprehensive services to a diverse clientele and pioneering innovative solutions for small business households.
